The download day was scheduled June 17, 2008. We are in the Philippines so we are 1 day ahead, and now they finally launched 3.0 . Today, Firefox will set a world record of the most downloaded software within 24 hours. I’ve been waiting for this yesterday. Anyway, the Final Release has a whole lot of new features.

This is a list of the top features obtained from their website:
1. One-Click Bookmarking
2. Improved Performance
3. Full Zoom
4. Instant Website ID
5. Smart Location Bar
6. Password Manager
7. Platform-Native Look & Feel
The complete list is located here. One feature that I’ve been waiting for since 2.0, is the full-zoom feature. IE7 already has this feature. What is the full-zoom feature? If you are not familiar how to zoom a webpage, you could do this by holding down ctrl key on your keyboard while scrolling up your mouse. Unfortunately on Firefox 2.0, the text alone will become larger not including the images. This will result in distortion of the whole web page layout. But because of the full-zoom feature, images alongisde with text zoom at the same time. Obviously, this method of zooming will give you a horizontal scrollbar.
I hope Firefox will not become a bloatware in time. Download Firefox 3.0 now!
NOTE: some plugins still don’t work for Firefox 3.0.You gotta wait for your favorite plugin that you can’t live without to update.
