I will be introducing an application called a memory scanner that is used to cheat games on the fly. A memory scanner searches for a memory value and manipulates its contents while the game is running. This is an old application made by Corsica productions. You could obtain the application by clicking this link available at Tim’s Vault website.

Now let’s start this tutorial by opening a game pre-installed into the Windows system. I guess you’ve been playing pinball for a while. Here’s what it looks like. You could access the program by navigating from your start menu to the games folder.

Step 1: Start the game and play by pressing F2. Let the ball fall and remember the score: 63000.

Step 2: Launch Tsearch and click Open Process then choose PINBALL.EXE.

Step 3: Press the magnifier below the Open Process button and type the score as a value for your search then press OK. Now we have 2 addresses and we don’t know which is which.

Step 4: Let’s play pinball again and let the ball fall for the second time. Just like before, let us remember the score: 94500.

Step 5: Go back to Tsearch and press the second magnifying glass just next to the icon we pressed awhile ago. The search is labeled “Search Next”. Then, Let’s input the current score value: 94500.

Now we are sure that the addresses awhile ago where accurate.

Step 6: Click the green plus icon with a border. You will notice that the values will go to the right pane of the window.

Now we could modify the values on the right pane. Let’s set it to 999999 then click the check boxes on the first column to freeze the values.

Step 7: Play pinball and notice the score will jump to 999999 and next scores will be added up. Modify it as you wish, That is memory manipulation for you. Done!

NOTE: This works on any game. But for new games, searching memory values will be hard. This does not work on online games, It has a different system.
