Do you have important files and just want to hide it from your brothers/sisters. You could buy some stenography software online which does this for you using their GUI interface. Or, simply use the built-in commands in your windows system to accomplish such task. You will not spend any money buying some software or need to be some geek like your neighbor. Just lend me 5 minutes of your time and watch my first video tutorial.

In this video, I would show you the exact steps of hiding your files into a wallpaper. How did this happen? We just need to remember the good old COPY command that’s with DOS for some years. The COPY command has a /B option. This option is used to copy binary files along with our + symbol to combine these two files together. What is a binary file? a binary file is a computer file encoded in binary form.

This looks easy, but did you ever wonder why companies spend time making software to do this? Well, not all file formats are supported by the COPY /B command. In fact, they are only available to binary files. So far, I have tested this with .mp3, .jpg, and the .gif format. However, if you want to add unsupported file types you could always compress these files into a .zip or .rar. Then, It’ll be a binary file which you could add to your picture. Remember, large files need large pictures in order for them to live.

Happy hiding!
